Dr. Nick Crisp

Founder & CEO

Casa Space Technologies

Nick Crisp is the CEO and a co-founder of CASA Space Technologies, a University of Manchester spinout developing novel drag-reducing coatings for satellites to enable access to lower altitude orbits, unlocking Very Low Earth Orbit for new communications and remote sensing applications.

Nick played a leading role in the design and operations of the SOAR CubeSat mission, Manchester's first satellite, which demonstrated CASA's drag-reducing coatings in orbit, giving him hands-on experience of taking novel space technology from concept through to flight.

Nick is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Manchester, where his research focuses on the aerodynamics and design of satellites operating in Very Low Earth Orbit. This dual role lets him bridge cutting-edge academic research with the practical challenges of building a deep tech space company from spinout to scale-up.
