PraeSeed 2026 - Applications Live

PraeSeed - Now Open with PXN Ventures

This year we have up to £1.6m to invest across the North, supporting ambitious pre-seed founders who are building high-growth businesses with real potential. PraeSeed is backed by the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II (NPIF II), meaning we can continue backing businesses beyond the programme — with the ability to invest in rounds of up to £5m as you scale.

And it works.
85% of our first cohort have already gone on to raise additional funding.

PraeSeed isn’t just about the first cheque. It’s about building momentum, opening doors to coinvestment, and surrounding you with a network that wants to see you win. More than money — hands-on support, experienced operators, and a regional ecosystem that backs its own.

If you’ve made progress since your last application — whether that’s product, traction, team or clarity of vision — we’d strongly encourage you to apply.

If you’ve got any questions, you can join our webinars here.

Reminder: What isPraeSeed?

A cohort investment programme for pre-revenue (<£250k) companies in the North of England. The six-week assessment will take place every Monday starting on the 8th of June in PXN’s Manchester office. The workshops will be delivered by experts and later stage founders to help give the cohort a crash course in scaling. All of the businesses will be introduced to our wider investment network at an investor event in September to help them secure further funding. Up to 12 businesses will be given a place on the programme with up to eight £200k investments available at the end of the process. The programme will run over five years and look to invest £6m into 35 companies.

Last year, we welcomed yet another ambitious cohort, with businesses from across the North of England – including Manchester, Lancaster, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, Durham, Newcastle and Cumbria – specialising in everything from AgriTech to FemTech. If you’d like to learn more about the businesses on our 2025 cohort, you can find the release here.
