AND Elevenses: Challenger Language Series - TypeScript

This event has now ended.

Grab a coffee and join AND Digital for Elevenses!

For over 20 years, JavaScript, Java and C have topped the list of most popular programming languages, however, there are other alternatives available to us, and it’s worth considering whether we should be using them in some ecosystems.

In the third of a five-part series, we’ll be looking at TypeScript - a superset language on top of JavaScript that’s rapidly gaining industry traction.

Since the first interactive web pages, JavaScript has often been the bane of developers, as with its ultimate flexibility and power comes a lot of stumbling blocks - especially to those more familiar with statically typed languages.

Can - and should - TypeScript work its way into our hearts, and more importantly our projects?

In this session, we’ll cover:

  • A brief history of TypeScript

  • TypeScript’s use cases

  • Features of the language

  • A live demo

  • How it compares to its competitors

About AND Elevenses

In our collective new normal of working from home, we’ve noticed ourselves just how easy it is to lose track of time and find yourself working without sufficient breaks. Without these, we all know how fast productivity, focus and wellbeing can dwindle.

So, to help break up your day, we’ve launched AND Elevenses: snappy, 45-minute live webinar sessions where you can learn new skills, network with others and take some time out from your working day.

If you've missed an event, don't worry. You can watch recordings here from each Elevenses session we run.
