To those new to The Inclusion Coalition, find out more at theinclusioncoalition.com and here is a brief intro:
The Inclusion Coalition is a community of organisations and individuals in Greater Manchester that is working to improve diversity and inclusion within the tech sector.
We will use our collective knowledge and our community to collate our knowledge, interrogate the sector, run campaigns, create tools and ultimately help each other improve.
We want to facilitate more robust and successful digital outcomes across the sector by creating a more diverse workforce.
What are we working on right now?
We recently ran workshops at The Federation in Manchester to explore the challenges within Education, Recruitment and Retention. We’re now working hard to turn all the great outputs from those sessions into content which can be consumed online whether you attended those sessions or not.
What's this meeting for?
We'll quickly present back the outcomes of the workshops. But mainly we'll outline the gaps we think need filling, more work and research that needs doing and opportunities to continue working on both the inclusion outcomes and also a chance to help shape what this community and platform becomes. Anyone can come along but sign-ups will just help us with numbers and find a suitable space.
Why should I come/ who should come?
- If you want to see the outcomes from the workshops
- If you came to the workshops or if you didn't come to the workshops - all are welcome
- If you have a general interest in inclusion
- If you want to be involved ongoing in The Inclusion Coalition in some way
What if I want to be involved but can't come to this meeting?
If you can't make it we will be posting the outcomes somewhere where everyone can see them and chose to get involved. We can also probrably arrange an online option for attending. There's also a slack for you to get involved with and we'll be running regular meetings at a variety of times so there will be plenty of oppotunities.
Have you already identified skills you need to help with this?
