A new specialist marketing agency has launched in Manchester to help UK private healthcare providers compete in a sector now valued at £13.8 billion. Highline enters the market as domestic clinics face intensifying pressure from overseas competitors, evolving patient expectations, and a fundamental shift in how healthcare is bought and sold.
The launch comes at a defining moment for private healthcare in the UK. NHS waiting lists remain above 7.2 million, and while the post-pandemic surge in self-pay demand has begun to stabilise, the market has grown by nearly 50% since 2020. At the same time, countries including Turkey, India, and Thailand are investing heavily in attracting British patients with lower-cost alternatives, putting domestic providers under competitive pressure that most have never had to face.
“Private healthcare in the UK is no longer a quiet corner of the market,” says Aron Evans, Founder of Highline. “Providers today aren’t just competing with the clinic down the road – they’re competing with heavily marketed international alternatives that are spending serious money to reach British patients online. The clinics that will win are those that invest in building credible, distinctive brands and the digital infrastructure to convert attention into bookings.”
Highline’s model is designed as a direct response to a longstanding problem in the sector. A typical private clinic might work with four or five separate suppliers across branding, PR, advertising, SEO, and web development, with no shared strategy between them. Highline replaces this fragmented approach with a single, end-to-end growth strategy – managing everything from a clinic’s brand positioning and reputation through to the systems that drive patient enquiries and bookings.
Founder Aron Evans brings over a decade of experience in high-growth marketing to the venture, having previously directed strategy for global brands across the technology and professional services sectors.
“The patient journey doesn’t start in the consulting room – it starts with a Google search, a referral from a friend, or an Instagram post,” Evans adds. “We ensure that every touchpoint a patient encounters, from first impression to confirmed booking, is as seamless and professional as the clinical care they go on to receive.”
Based in Altrincham, Highline launches with an initial focus on clinics in England and plans to grow its team by the end of 2026. The agency is targeting providers that are ready to professionalise their market presence in response to an increasingly informed and discerning patient demographic.
