Wayra UK and its partners will also announce the launch of a major new acceleration programme for ethical technology companies, which will be based at Open Future_ North and will seek to reduce specific aspects of poverty across the UK and beyond. The agenda of the day follows below.
Details of the new programme - which will be a major boost for the tech sector in Greater Manchester and is backed by major investors and partners including Big Society Capital, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Finance Birmingham, and Ascension Ventures - will be revealed on the day with the help of some high-profile speakers and panelists, including Claire Braithwaite(The Co-operative Group), Cliff Prior (Big Society Capital), Lucy Danger(EMERGE), and Mark Game (The Bread and Butter Thing).
Open Future_ North is a new multi-functional building offering access to low-cost, flexible workspace and equipment for small to medium-size digital enterprises. Start-ups based at the accelerator can leverage a wide range of pre-acceleration services, including access to investors, mentors and coaches, as well as Telefónica's 300 million customers worldwide.
The launch will take place in the afternoon from 1.30pm, and will take place at Open Future_ North, 38-44 Yorkshire St, Oldham OL1 1SE. Places at the event are limited, so please RSVP now.
