Marketing Manager
Fuzzy Labs - Manchester
Manchester
Our Mission
With a team of industry-leading specialists, we conceive and build open-source solutions that break new ground. When a problem looks impossible, we find a way; if the right tool doesn’t exist, we build one. We harness and channel the power of AI to create positive, meaningful change.
About Fuzzy Labs
Fuzzy Labs is an MLOps consultancy obsessed with the open-source ecosystem. We partner with data-science teams in the private and public sectors to get machine-learning products into production faster, safer, and with less technical debt. We contribute to (and rely on) the global open-source community, believing the best innovation happens in the open.
Why We’re Hiring
We doubled revenue in the past 12 months and have equally bold growth plans for the year ahead. To stand out from a sea of AI-generated noise, we need a marketing manager who can tell authentic, human stories, grounded in deep technical insight, to the engineers who build with us and the customers who buy from us.
About the role
We’re based in Greater Manchester, UK, operating on a hybrid model, with full time team members typically spending three days a week in the office. This position is flexible and could be spread over 3-5 days per week as long as you can work in the office some of those days.
Due to the sensitive nature of some of our work, you will be expected to undergo UK government security clearance after you start (at SC level - see this link for more information). This will include a credit check and criminal records check. As a result, we’re only able to consider candidates who have been resident in the UK for 5 or more years.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Strategy and Planning - help us develop our marketing strategy and plan and sequence our activity throughout the year
- Written content - Plan, commission, edit, and polish a steady cadence of newsletters, blogs, case studies, and LinkedIn posts. Translate deep-dive technical drafts from our engineers into engaging stories for both technical and commercial audiences.
- Video content - Script, record, and edit video (blog summaries, founder commentary, event recaps). We’re not looking for a seasoned video editor. We’ll help you use contemporary tools to focus on narrative flow and distribution, not cinematography.
- Brand - Ensure consistent delivery of our brand across all formats and help to develop and iterate on it where necessary working with our existing partners. Amplify the Fuzzy Labs voice across every touchpoint—so that “open-source MLOps” and “Fuzzy Labs” are synonymous in the UK market.
- Social media and community - build our community through our own events, newsletters and engagement with open source communities. Maximise the return on our social media activity
- Events/ PR - own the events calendar making sure we are at the right events as speakers and exhibitors and meeting the right people
- Website optimisation - Work with the team to evolve fuzzylabs.ai into a conversion engine: crisp messaging, clear CTAs, and SEO-friendly technical resources.
- Lead-generation campaigns - own end-to-end campaign setup in LinkedIn Campaign Manager, email automation, and lightweight ABM experiments. Partner with Sales to define ICPs, craft outreach sequences, and monitor funnel metrics.
- Analysis and reporting - ensuring all this good activity is actually delivering results, generating leads and building brand awareness.
Who we’re looking for
We’ve built a great culture at Fuzzy Labs and how you work is as important as what you do, here’s some of the ways we see our values lived in this role:
- Loving what we do: You’ll love telling stories as a vehicle for generating tangible marketing results!
- Just trying it: Experimenting is in our nature, we aren’t afraid of trying something new or left field. Is there a new channel we should try? Don’t follow the norm, do something different in terms of tone and style.
- Being greater than the sum of parts: Marketing isn't a solo game, you’ll be part of a close knit team of technologists and commercial minds. Our team want to contribute across the whole business and you should too. We’re in it together.
- Positive impact: We chose to build a business that will use AI for the benefit of society, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring we find customers and use cases that cement and enhance this belief and deliver a positive impact in the world.
As well as living the values you’ll also be able demonstrate:
- Exceptional communication skills, you can switch from punchy social copy to in‑depth whitepaper content.
- Experience turning complex technical subject matter into stories that spark emotion and drive action.
- Comfortable using modern marketing, digital and design tooling and up for experimenting with new technologies
- A test-and-learn mindset — you form hypotheses on effective strategies and execution, measure on real data and iterate quickly so that we’re getting the optimal return on our marketing efforts and budget.
- Collaborative and organised; you can manage multiple projects and stakeholders with calm efficiency.
- Ideally you would have experience in B2B marketing and tech and consultancy experience is a bonus (but don’t let that put you off)
- Familiarity with the AI/ML landscape and a desire to deepen that knowledge or work in the sector would be great
What we can offer you
- Flexible working pattern.
- Company share scheme.
- 25 days holiday (+ stats); with an additional day for every subsequent year.
- Company pension.
- All the unsolicited coffee making advice you could ask for.
