As a Lead Technology Delivery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping how Enterprise Services delivers critical technology products and services. Leading across multiple teams and a complex portfolio, you will create the conditions for high performance, remove barriers and build trusted relationships with stakeholders and suppliers. Using data and insight, you will drive continuous improvement and embed joined-up ways of working that deliver better outcomes.
As delivery grows in scale, complexity and risk, you will provide the cross-cutting leadership needed to strengthen portfolio-wide oversight, coordination and assurance. Operating with significant autonomy, you will set clear expectations, shape proportionate governance and influence senior stakeholders across organisational boundaries. You will support strategic prioritisation and sequencing, while improving visibility of delivery progress, dependencies and risks so leaders can make confident, evidence-based decisions.

Job description
As a Lead Technology Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for the performance of multiple teams working to deliver technology products and services. You will set up your teams for success and represent them to stakeholders and suppliers, building successful relationships across and beyond the organisation. You will find and remove blockers and inefficiencies, using data to continually encourage better ways of working within and between teams, leading to better outcomes.
As a leader in the Home Office Technology Delivery community, you’ll share knowledge and experience with colleagues across the department and wider Government, building skills, advising others, and applying good practice and standards.
You will support the UK’s security and prosperity through the products and services that your teams deliver.

Main Responsibilities
Your main day to day responsibilities will be:
- Take responsibility for delivery of technology products and services across multiple teams, facilitating and coaching in the most appropriate methodologies for complex, ambiguous situations. Facilitate structured approaches to problem-solving and opposing user needs, continuously improving processes and performance.
- Lead delivery within cost and time constraints, ensuring that realistic plans are maintained. Ensure regular, accurate communication with stakeholders and engagement with appropriate governance.
- Develop and bring together motivated, functioning teams, empowering cross-team collaboration and joined-up delivery. Monitor the health of interactions between teams and resolve issues.
- Ensure that risks are identified, their impact and probability are understood, and mitigations are in place, involving specialists where necessary.
- Identify and understand stakeholder groups and their needs. Develop stakeholder engagement strategies and plans and lead teams in executing them.
- Work proactively with suppliers involved in delivery, monitoring their performance, and collaborating to resolve issues. Help to improve supplier management processes.
Working Pattern
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis. However, compressed hours are available.
Essential Skills
You’ll have a demonstrable passion for delivery with the following skills or some experience in:
- Leading teams in different delivery approaches, such as Agile and Waterfall, guiding them in implementing the most appropriate methodology for the situation, while continuously reflecting and challenging them to inspect and improve processes,
- Facilitating the delivery of technology products and services throughout their lifecycle, across multiple teams,
- Bringing teams together to work towards common goals, identifying and rectifying issues in the links between them,
- Identifying, prioritising, and managing risks, issues and dependencies,
- Leading teams in understanding and communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders, managing stakeholder expectations, resolving issues and improving relationships,
- Engaging with suppliers, monitoring their performance, and resolving problems.
