They address operational and infrastructural challenges by enhancing system reliability, monitoring performance, and implementing resilience strategies.
They share common responsibilities in automation, reliability, and infrastructure management with other DevOps colleagues.
The Senior DevOps Engineer will be part of a “center of excellence”, helping other teams implement SRE practices. They will be expected to mentor and lead other engineers in technical tasks, as well as support recruitment and assessment activities.

Main responsibilities
- Guiding teams in mapping their services to the right platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient deployments.
- Developing and maintaining hardened base containers, contributing to secure and resilient platform infrastructure.
- Identifying and address deviations from best practices, advising teams on delivery risks and reliability improvements.
- Supporting engineers in service topology discovery, assisting in defining quality assurance (QA), deployment, and reliability pipelines.
- Driving the adoption of new tools and automation, improving teams’ integration, monitoring, and operational resilience.
- Developing and refine support processes, enhancing system reliability, observability, and incident response.
UK residency and security requirements
Please note that this role requires Security Check (SC) clearance, which would normally need 5 years’ UK residency in the past 5 years. Candidates must also hold or be prepared to undergo NPPV3 clearance.
However, in exceptional circumstances security clearance applications for candidates who have been present in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years may be considered. Failure to meet this residency requirement will result in your security clearance application being rejected.
