Head of Operations

Manchester Digital are currently seeking a head of operations to support recent growth and to develop and implement core strategies that will help the organisation to scale efficiently and sustainably in the future. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who values autonomy as well as mentoring and motivating people to achieve their goals. You need to be able to thrive under pressure and manage multiple priorities and calls on your time. Manchester Digital is owned by its members and the successful candidate will need to develop a deep understanding of their needs and work with the managing director to evolve and shape the organisation to reflect them. The role will also support the implementation of the marketing and membership strategies and will have oversight of a busy events schedule.
In-depth understanding of the digital and technology sector
Working with the managing director to develop an ambitious membership strategy and set team goals and objectives.
Mentor and motivate a small busy team and support them to define their priorities and meet objectives and targets.
Review and improve processes and procedures to enable the business to scale more efficiently.
Ensure activity between the events, marketing and membership team is connected and cohesive and that we are maximising the benefit
Work with the head of talent and skills to ensure that we are maximising the benefit of our talent and skills activity across the membership.
Develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and sponsors.
Maintain and manage monthly forecasts and provide monthly reports to the managing director on membership growth and events revenue.
Oversee the marketing strategy and ensure that all social and direct comms are reflective of Manchester Digital, written to a high standard and relevant to our audience.
Contribute to thought leadership pieces and blogs that reflect Manchester Digital and its members views.
Drive the creation, uptake and success of the Manchester Digital Forums in specific areas such as fintech, AI and cyber.
Spot opportunities and gaps in the market where Manchester Digital can develop new products and services.
Manchester Digital is the trade body for technology and digital businesses across Greater Manchester and has made a significant contribution to the success and growth of the region’s industry. It delivers a wide range of services, projects and initiatives that all contribute to the development of its member’s businesses. Manchester Digital is an independent not-for-profit organisation owned by its 500 strong membership.
