Job title: Project Coordinator
Type: Full time or part-time, 12 months fixed contract
Salary: £21- £26k (pro-rata) depending on experience
Reports to: Head of Talent and Skills

The opportunity 
We’re looking for a project coordinator to support our busy and varied programmes that are helping to create the digital and tech workforce for the future .

We are looking for a highly motivated, multi-tasker to help us develop the direction and delivery of our skills programmes working with industry experts, educators and young people.

About our programmes

Digital Her is a programme created by Manchester Digital that exists to end gender inequality in the digital and technology sector by encouraging more young women across Greater Manchester to consider careers in our industry. 

Digital Futures inspires students across the region to consider a career in digital, it gives them access to industry work placements and the opportunity to work on projects designed by local tech businesses.

Software Development Apprenticeship - our industry led apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with. some of the region's leading tech employers and we have a higher than average rate of merits and distinctions compared to the UK average.

Digital Skills Festival - this flagship event has been going for 9 years and is a must attend event for many of the region's tech businesses. The week comprises of a conference, a recruitment fair and opportunities for the tech community to upskill itself and well as providing students with an opportunity to spend a day with a tech business.

What you’ll do (non-exhaustive list) 

You will play a supporting role that contributes to the achievement of our talent and skills portfolio and wider organisational priorities.

  • Key contact point for the programme

  • Organise meetings and events 

  • Undertake all aspects of project administration 

  • Manage effective and timely information flow

  • Build relationships with and communicate with schools/colleges and educators 

  • Build relationships with and communicate with businesses and other stakeholders 

  • Keep project plans and monitor performance 

  • Write project reports 

  • Stakeholder management 

  • Facilitation and delivery of workshops and consultation activities 

  • Promote project benefits and success stories 

  • Undertake project evaluation activities and impact reporting 

  • Be responsible for the promotion and social platform presence of the programme

About you 

You will: 

  • Have an understanding/awareness of the digital and technology sector (or willingness to learn) and a genuine interest in the sector

  • Have an understanding of the principles of good project management

  • Be self-motivated

  • Have excellent organisational skills 

  • Multi-task effectively 

  • Be focused on practical outcomes 

  • Have the ability to communicate effectively at different levels and with different audiences 

  • Have the ability to problem-solve effectively / solution-focused 

  • Take responsibility for your own learning and development 

  • Able to manage multiple stakeholder relationships effectively  

  • Have good personal resilience 

  • Have an aptitude for team working   

  • Develop processes and effective and efficient working practices 

  • Be comfortable working independently and managing your own workload 

This role comes with public profile and responsibility. You will have a great deal of autonomy and you’ll be a key part of the decision making from the start. The role will provide you with the ability to drive programmes forward and develop them.

We don’t always work 9 – 5 so some early event starts and some evening work and general flexibility are required for events. Team spirit and embracing our values is important.
