Website Data Analyst

Key duties & responsibilities

  • Work with Clients and the Digital Strategist to define tracking requirements and develop full tracking plans for new and existing sites that adhere to their budgets.
  • Set up Google Analytics accounts for our clients and audit existing Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (GTM) set ups that may have been done by external agencies/third parties.
  • Assist the Digital Strategist in onboarding clients onto  Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • Implement, set up, debug and optimise GTM for existing and new clients.
  • Implement social pixels (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) via GTM
  • Set up and iterate Looker Studio (Google Data Studio) to generate reports for new projects and existing clients’ websites.
  • Plan and run client training in Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag manager (GTM) and Looker Studio.
  • Use a/b (or other automated) testing to iteratively test changes and gather data, including planning, setup and review.
  • Integrate with various cookie banner and consent systems in consideration of personal data collection and storage rules in all aspects of tracking, such as GDPR and the cookie laws.
  • Assist the research team in the analysis of data collected through systems such as GA, GSC, Hotjar and other similar platforms to produce reports and recommendations.
  • Assist the Digital Strategist in collecting data for case studies, internal websites and other internal requirements.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure basic understanding of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, help scope and quote for new projects and work with existing websites.

Skills and experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable technical knowledge of GA4 and Google Tag Manager, including implementation and debugging, building data layers, event tracking and extraction of data for User Journey mapping.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Google Tag Manager and cookie policy compliance.
  • 2 or more years working in a role where Google Analytics is used daily. This is either your current position or a position you’ve held in the past year.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the importance of data, analytics and OKRs.  
  • Passion for web data and the motivation to help shape and grow the data team within the Strategy, User Experience and Research team.

Additional

  • Experience of work within an agency and/or working within or for charities.
  • Experience or working knowledge of Hotjar, Google Analytics API and other data sources.
  • Good understanding of Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO), Pay per click marketing (PPC), Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Social Media Analytics and Ecommerce Analytics.
  • Good understanding of data reporting and visualisation tools other than Looker, e.g. Tableau.

What we offer

£35,000 salary depending on skills and experience.
