Future Innovators Day is a free, hands-on innovation challenge for the next generation of digital and technical talent across Greater Manchester.
Delivered as part of Manchester Digital Festival 2027 and sponsored by Autotrader, this challenge is designed for Year 2 / final-year college and sixth-form students studying subjects such as digital or technology pathways who enjoy coding, programming, creative problem-solving and building technology solutions.
Working in teams (max 5 people each), you'll take on a real business challenge set by Autotrader, develop your solution with support from industry mentors, and present your ideas to industry professionals.
It's an opportunity to put your skills into practice, experience what it's like to tackle a real-world technology challenge, meet people working in the industry and gain insight into careers in software development and engineering.
Autotrader currently expects to recruit Software Development apprentices for its September 2027 intake. Participation in Future Innovators Day does not guarantee an interview or apprenticeship.
Important booking information
Places are free but limited, and every student attending must book their own ticket. Please only register if your college or sixth form has shared this booking link with you or confirmed that places are available to your students.
If you're attending as part of a pre-arranged team, every member of your team must still register individually. Providing your teammates' names during registration does not book or reserve their places.
No student will be admitted without a confirmed ticket.
This booking page is for participating students only. Teachers should not book a student ticket. A limited number of teacher/observer places may be made available separately once student places have been confirmed, with further information shared directly with participating colleges.
Lunch will be provided for registered student participants.
Further information, including timings, venue details and what to bring, will be shared with confirmed attendees ahead of the event.
