Help to Grow: Management - Big Networking for Small Businesses

This event has now ended.

Why Big Networking for Small Businesses?

We know that the best way to stay motivated as a business owner is to have a support structure around you. Everyone needs a gang of business buddies that are there when you need them.

Our sessions are a chance to have real conversations, build links and, most importantly, have fun.

What to expect...

At each session, you'll find a relaxed room full of old and new friends catching up over cups of tea and snacks!

Each month, you'll hear from a guest speaker who has launched their own business. You'll have time to meet your peers before and after the guest speaker. And you'll be able to find out about the funded business support on offer to help you grow your business, too.

Our sessions are run as part of our Help to Grow: Management programme but you don't need to be part of the course to attend these networking sessions. They're open to all small business owners and managers.

Guest speaker for Tuesday 12 October - Eileen Donnelly, Ripple & Co.

Eileen will share her expertise and insight into how to prevent, promote, protect and support employees’ mental health and wellbeing, all from an evidence base of what works to improve workplace wellbeing. Her knowledge on the evidence behind the positive and negative impacts of both good and poor wellbeing will leave you in no doubt as to the critical nature of this aspect of people management from talent attraction, talent development through to talent retention.

Eileen’s 20-year career has focused on supporting companies to build purpose-driven business strategies and workplace cultures, by responding to, and investing in, the most relevant issues, from climate change to mental health, latterly as a Director in a global FTSE 250. She believes passionately that investing in employee’s resilience and positive mental health is critical to successfully achieving bottom-line productivity as well as talent attraction and retention. After founding Ripple&Co in 2019 Eileen now works with organisations such as NatWest, Virgin, Mott MacDonald, XPO and VolkerWessels to support them in building healthy, productive and motivated workforces through a holistic approach to developing wellbeing programmes, with an emphasis on mental health.
