We’re Bliss

We’re a friendly bunch who care deeply and passionately about technology. We understand our greatest asset are the people behind what we make - that’s why we’ve worked hard to build a team of the best.

Bliss is based in Manchester, the Northern Powerhouse and rising tech city! We love open source and help our customers embrace the right technology choices free of pesky licences. Our customers work with us because they want to, not because technology forces them to.

Our team consists of developers, designers, and digital marketing experts. Each specialise in their area, but also possess a holistic understanding of what our agency does as a whole, leading to more connected, considerate thinking

We’re sustainable…in that we try to make engaged decisions about what we buy, where we buy it from, and how we use it. That goes for energy, paper and stationery, cleaning supplies, tea and coffee. Naturally, we recycle, and we encourage our staff to cycle to work by providing discounted bikes and equipment to the team; over half of which regularly cycle in.

And you are?

You’re the type of person who can admit there’s always more to learn, and more to improve. You’re a thoughtful individual who cares about their teammates and knows when to be supportive. You know what you’re doing and aren’t afraid to say what needs to be done.

As a front-end developer, you’ll be working closely with other members of a cross-functional team, including designers and back-end developers, to build bespoke projects for a range of clients. You will be accustomed to using semantic and accessible markup and well-considered performant CSS to bring flat designs to life with outstanding attention to detail. As the role requires building interactive front-ends for a larger system, some knowledge of one or more of the CMS platforms we use, Drupal 7/8 and WordPress, is preferred. The main skill requirements are as follows:

  • HTML5, CSS, BEM & Sass or similar
  • Templating (Twig/Underscore/Handlebars or similar)
  • Javascript (ES5/6, jQuery, some React/Gatsby or similar)
  • Build tools (Gulp, Webpack, npm)
  • CMS experience (Drupal/WordPress/Shopify/Squarespace)
  • Git (Github/Gitlab/Bitbucket)
  • Design tools (InVision/Sketch/Photoshop)

Nothing is off the table when it comes to technology, we are always excited to push the boundaries of what we use and what we can use to produce the best possible products for our clients. Check out our current tech stack https://blis.sh/stackshare
