Job description
As a Performance Analyst you’ll develop performance measurement frameworks - Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), goals, user needs and benefits - and analyse the performance of One Login.
You'll be responsible for analysing user behaviours across products in the One Login programme. You'll focus on web analytics and event logs but also work with data from other sources such as call-centre, surveys and user feedback. Your insights will drive prioritisation, helping product owners to focus on features that work best for users.
You’ll be proactive and work effectively in a multidisciplinary agile team to help them identify “what success looks like”, develop hypotheses, implement tracking, ensure data is accurate and significant and then provide analysis and actionable insight through effective storytelling and data visualisation.
As a Performance Analyst you’ll:
- deliver analysis, especially using digital analytics, to help product owners make decisions based on evidence
- measure and assess outcomes, for example, 'what success looks like', developing hypotheses and measurement frameworks
- collect relevant and accurate digital data by managing and developing digital analytics instrumentation - working with developers
- collect and analyse offline data, e.g. from call centres
- identify where user experience can be improved and working with teams to overcome barriers
- work closely with user researchers to combine the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of user behaviour
- provide recommendations for action based on user data in easily understandable and engaging ways - such as show and tells, blog posts, dashboards and other data visualisation methods
- contribute to the performance analysis community; assisting with training and knowledge transfer of digital analysis principles to wider audiences and expanding your own and others’ data analysis skills
- line manage any associate performance analysts, when recruited
- work independently, although seek guidance when necessary
Person specification
We’re interested in people who have:
- experience in digital analytics and data analysis, instrumenting, administration and analysis
- experience working within agile/lean delivery environments
- detailed understanding of, and practical experience of using different data tools to transform and analyse different data sets
- good understanding and hands on experience working with in web analytics with tools such as Google Analytics
- ability to provide insight and translate data in a clear and concise manner using spreadsheets and other relevant tools
- experience of discovering and sharing analytical insight with stakeholders with various levels of analytical expertise and at all levels of seniority
- experience of gathering and understanding technical requirements and working with developers to build suitable technical solutions

GDS offers hybrid working for all employees. This means that everyone does some working from home and also spends some time in their local office. You’ll agree to your hybrid working arrangement with your line manager in line with your preferences and business needs.

Selection process details
The standard selection process for roles at GDS consists of:
- a simple application screening process - We only ask for a CV and cover letter of up to 750 words. Important tip - please ensure that your cover letter includes how you meet the skills and experience listed in the “person specification” section above
- a 60 minute video interview which will include a technical question
- A presentation/task - full details will be provided to those invited to interview
Depending on how many applications we get, there might also be an extra stage before the video interview, for example a phone interview or a technical exercise.

A reserve list will be held for a period of 12 months, from which further appointments can be made.
