About us
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is the UK’s independent authority set up to uphold information rights in the public interest, promoting openness by public bodies and data privacy for individuals.
It is our goal to increase the public’s trust and confidence in how their data is used and made available. By staying up to date with evolving technology, we’re able to enforce the laws that we’ve helped shape whilst also providing an excellent public service.
Our work is interesting and immensely rewarding – it’s of national importance and increasingly in the public eye. As a result, more people than ever before are turning to us for help. As such, we’re growing and looking to add to our teams in many areas!
About the Digital Economy Department
The Digital Economy Department is a new function within the ICO’s Technology and Innovation Directorate, charged with influencing the most significant firms in the digital economy to demonstrate high standards of data protection across their full range of products and activities.
It does so in partnership with the UK’s other major digital regulators, including through the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum, which brings together Ofcom, the Competition and Markets Authority, Financial Conduct Authority and the ICO to maximise the synergies between our regulatory regimes.
Our work is high-profile and high-impact, shaping the experience of digital services for people across the UK.
About the role
As Programme Manager, you will manage a team of project specialists to design and lead a change project implementing recommendations on an enhanced ICO model of regulatory supervision for digital economy firms with the highest risk and reach. You will play a pivotal role in establishing a project plan and roadmap, securing cross-ICO support for implementation of recommendations, and ensuring activity is effectively managed, delivered and reported on.
You should be passionate about project delivery, motivating your team to work effectively, with clear objectives and deliverables, and ensuring that that recommendations are successfully implemented within agreed timeframes. Your role will be critical in continuing to ensure that the ICO is fully equipped to discharge its enhanced regulatory duties within the digital economy and well positioned to work collaboratively with other UK regulators in the digital arena.
