Head of Development

We’re looking for a Head of Development to join our highly-skilled team of in-house developers. This is a permanent role  to support our developers as they build both mobile applications and websites for our client while leading the technical direction with our clients. 

In order to be successful in this position, we are encouraging applications from candidates who have solid experience of the following:

  • Proven experience of leading a team of software engineers including performance, development, and disciplinary issues.

  • Overseeing the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release and post release)

  • Supporting legacy apps to the same high standard as new apps ensuring new and legacy applications meet quality standards 

  • Experience using SCRUM or other Agile methodologies.

As the Head of Development for Indiespring you are also expected to:

  • Manage your workload completely independently of others

  • Effectively manage development team members in line with company policy and procedures, including performance, development, disciplinary and conflict resolution with effective feedback.

  • Oversee the technologies, tools and techniques used within the team, ensure that they are suitable and match best practices

  • Writing of specifications and architecture plans during the discovery phase of a project

  • Help with development in case of emergencies

  • Assume a high level of ownership of all work developed by members of the team.

  • Be comfortable liaising with clients in a presales and support capacities
