The Role


As a Senior Manager within our IT Sourcing and Outsourcing capability you will help our clients exploit their supply chains to effect high value technology transformation in support of their broader business transformation agendas.

As an experienced sourcing professional, you will be able to operate across finance, commercial and technology delivery disciplines confidently speaking the language of each and understanding the priorities, challenges, constraints and opportunities of all.

In this role you will;

 

  • Assist clients to understand how technology providers, systems integrators and service partners can deliver the capabilities required to effect and assure transformation;
  • Assist clients to build and implement sourcing strategies and underpinning supplier strategies to effect broader technology and business strategy;
  • Assist clients to develop go to market strategies to identify and secure the capabilities required to implement their strategy;
  • Deliver exceptional quality supplier engagement to solicit proposals and solutions;
  • Act as a broker between client stakeholders to define and create consensus of requirements for strategies and specific transactions;
  • Bring expert knowledge of suppliers and commercial constructs to assist clients and their legal advisors in the negotiation of robust operationally deliverable contracts;
  • Assist clients with the transition of services to an inbound supplier and provide the expertise to help the client assure post contract value realisation


Domain Skills and Experience

You will have extensive experience in delivery of sourcing strategies and transactions within one or more of the following technology domains;

Application Hosting:

  • You will have deep knowledge of hyperscale public cloud service providers and how their catalogues can be leveraged to deliver value to the client.  
  • You will understand and have experience of the complexity of cloud adoption and migration and be able to represent this as risk transfer to an eco-system of delivery partners.  
  • You will understand and have experience of the commercial constructs of cloud provision and have experience of negotiating commercial ‘wrapper’ deals to secure discounts at scale.  
  • You will understand and have experience of the challenges of delivering legacy hosting services economically in a declining volume format and be able to demonstrate approaches that can minimise commercial risk to the client.
  • You will understand and have experience of sourcing and establishing the services for delivery of cloud controls and engineering capabilities such that clients can securely and reliably consume public cloud.

 

System Integration

  • You will have broad experience of defining and sourcing work packages to develop and / or deploy core business applications;
  • You will understand and be able to demonstrate your experience of the programmatic requirements for delivery of complex integration programmes using both waterfall and agile delivery methods;
  • You will have experience and a strong understanding of the risk profile of material transformation programmes and be able to demonstrate deep knowledge of the methods for transferring risk to the supply chain and managing that risk in delivery;
  • You will have experience and a strong understanding of different commercial models encompassing resource, output and outcome based approaches;

 

Digital Workplace

  • You will have broad experience of sourcing the services that enable organisations to transform to highly automated, self service digital work-place environments;
  • You will understand the service constructs and operating models necessary to manage a modern work-place environment
  • You will have experience of sourcing device supply, device management, field services, service desk and associated automation / AI based technologies, collaboration technologies and the integration if IT with facilities management functions
  • You will be able to demonstrate that you understand and have experience of the economics and uses cases for the application of different client formats and BYOD.
  • You have experience of building the value case for investment in digital workplace 
  • You will have a fully developed and supportable perspective on the evolution of the digital workplace in a post pandemic context


Skills and Experience

  • Influencing and advising C-level stakeholders and their direct reports
  • Defining and managing sourcing process encompassing market tender and single source techniques
  • Defining commercial and operational / technical requirements in your domain of experience – leveraging the detailed technical expertise of a broader organisation
  • Evaluation and selection methods
  • Project / programme management skills, as applied to a sourcing project or programme
  • Agile sourcing methods
  • Pricing constructs 
  • Market analysis and vendor knowledge


The Person

  • You will have experience working in complex IT environments and your specific area of domain expertise.
  • You may have a back-ground in delivery, the scoping and selling of complex IT solutions in a sell side organisation or in a strategic sourcing function working closely with technology delivery functions.
  • You will be able to build lasting and productive client relationships that can be maintained over a span measured in years.
  • You will be able to identify and anticipate client needs and scope solutions to meet these as well as deliver those solutions.
