Mason Advisory has been awarded a major contract by Limerick City and County Council, acting on behalf of the Irish fire services to provide Technology Transformation Services in support of Ireland’s National Mobilisation and Communications System (NMACS) programme.
The appointment follows a rigorous competitive OJEU public procurement process to select the right partner to support the ambitious transformation programme which will establish the Irish Fire Service as a European leader in resilience and mobilisation capabilities.
The National Mobilisation and Communications System (NMACS) underpins fire service mobilisation and communications across Ireland’s regionalised command model. Through this contract, Mason Advisory will support a broad programme of transformation activities developing critical fire service technology, including command and control capability, station-end infrastructure, mobile data services, cyber resilience, data management, business intelligence and the controlled retirement of legacy technology.
Mason Advisory look forward to bringing their expertise and experience to the Irish Fire Service and the NMACS programme, providing technical architecture, cyber assurance, procurement, commercial and delivery expertise across complex, multi-supplier environments.
Fergal Stack, Head of the National Mobilisation and Communications System, said:
“NMACS plays a critical role in supporting fire service mobilisation and communications across Ireland. As we continue to modernise the national technology environment, it is important that we have access to experienced support that understands the operational, technical and delivery challenges associated with live emergency services systems.
Mason Advisory has demonstrated a strong understanding of the NMACS environment and the wider fire service context. We look forward to continuing to work with them as we progress the next phase of technology transformation, with a focus on service resilience, effective governance and safe delivery.”
Les Watson, Associate Director at Mason Advisory, said:
“We are delighted to have been awarded this important national programme. NMACS sits at the heart of fire service mobilisation and communications in Ireland, and the continued modernisation of this environment is critical to operational resilience, service continuity and public safety.
This award reflects the strength of Mason Advisory’s emergency services technology capability, our practical understanding of control room and critical communications environments, and our ability to support complex public-sector transformation from strategy and procurement through to delivery assurance and live service transition.
We look forward to continuing to work closely with NMACS, Limerick City and County Council, and the wider fire service community to help deliver safe, assured and value-for-money technology transformation.”
The award further strengthens Mason Advisory’s position as a trusted adviser in emergency services technology, control room transformation, critical communications, procurement and programme delivery.
