Refresh Launches Tech PR and Marketing Placement

Manchester based PR and comms agency, Refresh, has launched a search to find a passionate individual who’s interested in a career in technology public relations and marketing for a placement this Summer.

The week-long, fully paid opportunity is an initiative launched as part of Greater Manchester’s Good Employment Week 2023. The successful candidate will shadow the agency’s tech PR team and support campaigns for some of the region’s most dynamic tech businesses, helping with content writing, media relations and creative ideation.

Applications are open to anyone studying or having recently completed a course in PR, communications, marketing, digital marketing or another related field at a sixth form, college or university in Greater Manchester.

Lucy Moore, associate director and head of Refresh’s tech division, said: “At Refresh we’re committed to fostering the talent of the next generation of PR professionals and strengthening the talent pipeline in the GM region.

“While we already work with various education institutes across the city to recruit talent, we really wanted to focus this opportunity on the tech sector specifically. Manchester was named the UK’s top digital tech city in 2022 by CBRE and it’s easy to see why. Tech is embedded within the city’s culture, with many organisations- from blue chip brands, through to start and scale ups choosing Manchester to reside, supported by the brilliant talent coming out of our three universities and multiple colleges.

“At Refresh, we have the privilege of working with some of the most exciting tech businesses in the region. So, we’re on the lookout for someone who shares this passion and is keen to learn what it’s all about – if this sounds like you, please apply!”

Refresh was announced as a member of the Good Employment Charter in November last year following a rigorous assessment process, joining just 74 other businesses across the region.

The Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter is a voluntary membership and assessment scheme created to help deliver good jobs with opportunities for people to progress and develop, along with a thriving and productive economy.

The placement is set to take place between the 21-25 August at the agency’s Northern Quarter office. For more information and to apply, visit: https://www.refreshpr.co.uk/good-employment-week-2023/
