Manchester Digital's Tech Leader Talks offers the opportunity for senior leaders in large-scale digital and tech businesses here in the North West to come together with other C-Level individuals to network, share best practices and make new connections.
This event will be in the format of a lunchtime networking session followed by a Q & A. The morning will include a light lunch for all attendees, refreshments and an Industry Insight session.

Host - Alison Ross MBE, Chief people and operations director at Auto Trader
Mariam Hussein, Software Engineer at Slalom
Mariam is a multi award-winning Software Engineer, Advocate and Public Speaker from Slalom, with a passion about crafting impactful solutions through technology. Alongside this, she is committed to DEI in the Tech Industry through her role as a Code First Girls Ambassador, whether that be through engaging in the local community, creating content, or even speaking internationally on digital skilling.
Emily Smith, Head of Data Science at Pets at Home
Emily has led the team in delivering projects such as E-comm recommender models, optimising the product layout in the distribution centre, geospatial analysis and many more. Emily graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc in Statistics, before jumping into industry gaining ten years of experience in cyber security, consultancy and retail. Emily has also previously been involved with Digital Her workshops and is an advocate for the LGBT community.
Mike Skelton, Deputy Director at Government Digital Services
Mike Skelton is Deputy Director for GOV.UK Web, Publishing and Platform, within Government Digital Service (GDS). Mike is responsible for developing and running the GOV.UK web proposition and publishing tooling that supports it, while ensuring GOV.UK's infrastructure is secure, robust and scalable. Prior to joining GDS, Mike worked in technology roles across a number of sectors and industries, including as VP of Product at a health tech start up, 11 years working at the BBC in a variety of product leadership roles and 7 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
