Senior Training & Implementation Support Specialist

Designs, develops, maintains and delivers professional blended learning, via online training solutions and classroom training, to CDL’s clients and employees. 

The principal focus is on high quality online learning in order to develop product that can be licensed and commercialised for use by clients to meet their learning requirements.

 

Assists in the delivery of application and service implementations, providing a high standard of professional consultancy service, in respect of CDL developed application software and best practice. Works self-sufficiently and collaboratively to ensure team and departmental goals are achieved. Supports the development of CDL applications, in line with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Position in Organisation 

  • Member of the Learning Solutions and Training team that is closely aligned with the Client Implementation Team to exploit the synergies of the two functions to ensure that CDL’s blended learning solutions and implementations meet the needs of CDL’s clients.  
  • Reports to the Principal Client Implementation & Training Manager ensuring alignment with the CIM function. 
  • Liaises with colleagues in other CDL departments, especially Professional Services, to align CDL’s blended learning solutions and system enhancements with clients’ requirements. 
  • Liaises with HR to fulfil commitments to CDL staff inductions, the shared operation of CDL’s LMS, etc. 
  • Liaises with Software Engineering to ensure that CDL’s blended learning solutions align with CDL’s latest application releases. 
  • Liaises at senior levels both internally and externally 

Responsibilities 

  • Course content development and maintenance: continually evaluates the effectiveness of training and modifies materials accordingly. Develops and maintains all training materials in line with system developments and user feedback according to CDL’s values and standards. 
  • Online Training Academy: delivers high quality and cost-effective online training solutions for internal and external clients. Keeps abreast of the latest innovations in online training technologies and methodologies and applies them to CDL’s materials. Ensures that online learning content and techniques remain current and relevant. Ensures online training solutions meet stakeholder requirements and are evaluated appropriately. 
  • Training delivery: delivers high quality classroom training courses to internal and external clients blended with CDL’s online learning solution. 
  • Training request management: undertakes appropriate training needs analysis for all internal and external training requests to identify and agree training delivery programmes. 
  • Capacity Management: diligently reports current and future capacity commitments to optimise utilisation, commercial potential and productivity of self and team. 
  • Commercial awareness and commitment: maintains awareness of the Learning Solutions and Training team’s financial targets and collaborates in achieving them. Maintains a cost-conscious and profit-minded approach to training delivery to optimise commercial potential. 
  • CDL application knowledge: develops and maintains a high level of understanding of CDL application software that is included in CDL’s training materials. 
  • Continuous Improvement: devises and implements methods and techniques to continuously improve CDL’s blended learning solutions capability including content and technologies employed. 
  • Client focus: maintains a client-centric perspective ensuring alignment between CDL’s and our clients’ needs. 
  • Excellence: maintains standards of excellence in Training’s products and services. 
  • Identity: identifies with Professional ServicesCommercial and CDL. 
  • Organisation: employs effective organisation of work to achieve optimal utilisation, commercial generation and training delivery. 
  • Quality: delivers learning solutions on time and to plan meeting client expectations as measured by TNAs, plans and feedback. 
  • Stature: is an ambassador for Professional Services, Commercial and CDL, setting high standards of excellence and achievement. 
  • CIM team support: impact assesses change requests. Manages CIM service logs. Manages CIM Demo environment upgrades and shakedowns
  • System development: supports client enhancement requirements. Reviews system developments to confirm user requirements satisfied
  • CIM consultancy: assists on process reviews with clients to ensure best practice is used requiring CDL application knowledge, promoting new facilities, software and services. Assists in the production of process review documentation including metrics. Develops knowledge of the general insurance marketplace, products and processes
  • CIM ownership: assists on specific projects requiring CDL application knowledge. Assists with the application configuration for the software solution in accordance with the scope/objectives agreed. Accompany CIM/SCIM on client site including business process development, workshops, deployment/go-live support, and documentation (output from workshops and meetings). Liaises with Technical Consultants and Project Managers to ensure the total solution and component application is of the agreed quality. Assists implementing all actions required to deploy an application and assist in ensuring that the application meets both technical and business needs. Completes Config documentation
  • Technical knowledge: maintains current knowledge of CDL core (i.e. Strata & Classic) and ancillary (e.g. RTP, MIAMI, BI, Enrichment) products and the insurance industry. Develops knowledge in specifying, implementing and configuring Strata to enable an assigned client to successfully run their business

Qualifications, Skills & Experiences

  • GCSE's: A-C Grades, minimum in Maths and English. 
  • Full and clean driving licence. 
  • Formal industry-recognised Training qualification. 
  • PRINCE2 Foundation. 
  • Familiarity with SCORM-compliant online learning software and associated video and audio software. 
  • Able to create on-demand software simulation packages. 
  • Able to use a range of Microsoft packages, especially in the support of online learning development. 
  • Excellent presentation skills. 
  • Proven and demonstrable understanding of CDL applications and product range.
  • Insurance industry experience, preferably with a broker. 
  • Experience of developing, from inception to final completion, standalone online learning programs, including a variety of audio/visual interactions. 
  • Experience of designing, delivering and maintaining training courses. 
  • Experience of delivering training at client premises.
