Sportsshoes.com appoint One iota to build out consumer mobile apps

SportsShoes.com have appointed Manchester based One iota to help continue their tech transformation by developing their native consumer app experiences on iOS and Android.

Online running shoes, running clothing and outdoor gear retailer SportsShoes.com is on a mission to help its customers to lead happier, healthier lives through running and fitness.

Founded in 1982, the company offers customers more than 17,000 products from 150 global running and outdoor brands. From a running perspective, these include Asics, Nike, Adidas, Hoka and New Balance whilst in terms of outdoor they include Haglöfs, Mammut, Rab and Patagonia.

With native consumer mobile apps providing a unique experience for retailers to build ever deeper relationships with customers, SportsShoes.com took the decision to activate this channel.

The iOS and Android apps will allow the company to showcase its extensive range of content but in a personalised way based on customer activity and preferences, embedding membership options throughout the shopping journeys and driving rich data and insights from each interaction.

After an extensive review of the market, approaches and potential digital partners for this project, SportsShoes.com engaged leading app solution provider One iota.

Last year, SportsShoes.com announced a £2.5m investment for its digital transformation to support the company’s ongoing strategic expansion plan.
