Manchester digital agency Pixel Kicks has launched the new official website for the Tour de France Grand Départ 2027, following a competitive pitch process.
The website will act as the digital hub for one of the world's largest annual sporting events, supporting the build-up to the historic return of the Tour de France to Great Britain. It provides visitors with the latest news, route information, volunteering opportunities and campaign updates, whilst giving organisers a flexible platform that will continue to evolve as the event approaches in 2027.

For Pixel Kicks, the project presented a unique challenge.
Designing digital experiences for globally recognised brands requires more than simply applying brand assets to a website. The team was tasked with interpreting the existing Tour de France Grand Départ identity and translating it into a compelling online experience that captured the excitement, prestige and energy associated with one of the world's most iconic sporting events.
Working within established brand guidelines, the agency created a mobile-first website featuring immersive imagery, a cinematic homepage video and carefully considered customer journeys, helping visitors quickly find the information most relevant to them - whether that's volunteering, exploring host locations or following the latest campaign news.

Beyond the visual design, the platform also needed to support a range of operational requirements. The website integrates with the client’s wider digital ecosystem, including volunteer management, CRM systems, Google Analytics 4 and multilingual content management using WPML, enabling both English and French content to be managed efficiently from a single platform.
The project was delivered using an agile development approach, allowing functionality to be released in phases while ensuring the initial launch met a fixed national campaign deadline - an essential requirement for a project of this scale.
Chris Buckley, Head of Growth and Founder of Pixel Kicks, said:
"Winning this project was something we're incredibly proud of. The Tour de France is one of the most recognisable sporting brands in the world, so there was a real responsibility to create a website that reflected the scale and excitement of the event."
It was a fantastic collaborative project with the Tour de France team, combining strategy, UX, creative design and technical delivery to produce a platform that will continue to grow as we move towards 2027."
Esha Glen, Marketing Lead for the Tour de France Grand Départ 2027, added:
"We were delighted to work with Pixel Kicks on the development of our website. From the outset, the team moved quickly, understood what we needed, and got the project up and running in a short space of time. They were responsive, easy to work with, and consistently focused on finding solutions. Most importantly, they ensured the website was built, tested and ready to go for our fixed launch deadline, which was critical to the success of the project."

The project adds to Pixel Kicks' growing portfolio of work within the sport and public sector, having previously delivered websites for organisations including Skateboard GB, GB Snowsport and UA92.
It also demonstrates the agency's continued focus on creating engaging WordPress platforms that combine strong creative design with robust technical delivery.
