Digital Skills Audit 2019

Manchester Digital works with the region’s most progressive digital and technology companies and plays a key role in making Greater Manchester one of the best places in the UK to grow and develop your business.

This is the sixth Digital Skills Audit that we have produced and it is used by businesses, policymakers and other regional and national stakeholder to understand which issues need to be prioritised and addressed.

Whilst the year-on-year results only show small fluctuations when viewed over the 6 years there are some very clear trends, for instance in 2014, 83% of our businesses said their turnover had grown. This growth has definitely slowed down over the last couple of years and this year only 54% of businesses reported an increase in turnover. Much of this has been attributed to the uncertainty caused by Brexit.

Reading this report will give you insights into

  • Brexit

Why is the Digital Skills Audit important?

This body of research has been the catalyst behind many of the region’s industry-led endeavours to help address the skills shortage and over the last 12 months, with private and public sector support, we have significantly grown the number of programmes that we run and tripled the volume of schools, colleges and educators we have been able to support.

To continue our work in this sector, we rely on the support of our members. If you’d like to join the forward-thinking companies that are supporting our work, sign up here.
