Join us as we host the first-ever Auto Trader Product Talks to discuss online consumer confidence; building trust, and increasing conversion
About this event
We're excited to welcome you for an evening of talks from Product Leaders who have overcome the challenge of consumers needing to trust a new brand or service and the tools and techniques they’ve used to build the confidence to convert online.
We'll serve food and drinks when we open the doors at 6 pm, with talks starting at 6:30 pm. If you have any dietary or accessibility requirements, please drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org

The surprising (and not-so-surprising) ways to build trust in e-commerce.
We all know that if customers don’t trust your site, they won’t convert. So how do we build trust? In this talk, we dig into a synthesis of 28 studies of consumer trust in e-commerce sites to find out what works and what doesn’t. Some of the findings aren’t surprising: Trust comes from your reputation and integrity. But some of the other things that build trust – including the number-one-trust-builder across these studies – are things that, on the face of it, don’t seem to have anything to do with trust at all or that might have even been expected to cause distrust. What are they? Sorry, you’ll have to come to the talk to find out. You don’t want to miss it, trust me.

Transforming traditional auto finance into a transparent digital consumer-led experience
How we have been bold to throw away the traditional approach for auto finance and instead introduce a transparent consumer-led digital experience that puts information and confidence at the heart of our thinking while always thinking of the best outcome for the consumer.

Overcoming and augmenting imperfect information online
The pandemic shifted our lives online at unprecedented rates, including more transactions and for items, people would never have considered buying remotely before. But the online world is one of imperfect information, where we’re fed a carefully curated, filtered view of reality, making it especially difficult to know who to trust. Genuine user-generated content, including ratings and reviews, can help augment imperfect information, inspiring confidence in buyers and providing sellers with accurate data which can supercharge their operating decisions.

Navigating 2-sides marketplaces and bringing both buyers and sellers on the journey
Two years ago, we created a product for our Auto Trader customers, which allowed them to retail in a new way. This product broke the mould of what advertising on Auto Trader had previously looked like and enabled online retailers (without a physical location) to advertise their cars on our platform for the first time!
