What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
- Influential with strong communication and leadership skills.
- Significant demonstrable experience of building, configuring, administering and supporting infrastructure technologies., integrations and solutions for Mobile Devices (iOS/Android)- e.g. Workspace One/Intune.
- An expert knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Mobility Management software and principles, with experience in deploying, configuring and supporting mobile clients such as Apple iOS and Samsung Knox devices.
- Extensive experience and proven track record of Cloud Hosted infrastructure services within AWS and Azure, including knowledge of networking principles in a security conscious environment and practised in deploying infrastructure via pipelines using CI/CD tools and methodologies.
- Strong working knowledge and practical experience of Microsoft Azure / Entra ID / Intune configuration and policies, including knowledge of Identity principles, SSO and Certificate Based Authentication.
- The ability to troubleshoot, own and manage problem records, including perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Can demonstrate working knowledge of Change and Incident management principles working within the ITIL framework.
You and your role
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for Mobile Device Services, you'll be in charge of maintaining and managing all aspects of the service. You'll also be responsible for designing and implementing infrastructure services for DWP mobile devices, working closely with our Architecture and Engineering teams.
You'll get to work on projects like designing and building MDM components and integrations, remote access VPNs, backend services like custom APIs and IIS web apps, writing and maintaining scripts, and managing cloud-hosted infrastructure in AWS and Azure using Infrastructure as Code.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £68,517.
Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth over £16,000 per year.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time.
You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
