At the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government (MHCLG), you’ll help design digital services that support how people register and vote across the UK. From improving accessibility to simplifying complex information, your work will help ensure elections are open, clear and inclusive for everyone.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll be part of a multidisciplinary digital team, working closely with service designers, user researchers, developers and product managers to design high-quality public services.
You’ll:
- Design and improve end-to-end user journeys, helping people complete tasks like registering or applying to vote
- Review and refine existing content to ensure it aligns with GOV.UK standards and meets user needs
- Use research, data and testing to shape and continuously improve your designs
- Contribute to building inclusive services that support a wide range of access needs
- Prototype ideas and collaborate with stakeholders to bring them to life
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is passionate about designing content that works for real people.
You’ll bring:
- Confidence reviewing, editing and improving content based on user needs
- Experience using research and data to inform and test your work
- A good understanding of GOV.UK standards, including the Style Guide and Design System
- The ability to work collaboratively with others and influence stakeholders
- A mindset that values feedback and continuous improvement
