How to keep AI product images consistent across a campaign

Three views of a model walking in a belted camel coat and cream trousers against a dark background, AI concept work

A product can look convincing on its own and change when you put the images together. The shape shifts, the same person looks different, or one frame feels much warmer than the others. In my work, all three need attention.

Decide what stays fixed

Start with what a customer must recognise: the product’s design, proportions, materials, colour and branding, and the appearance of anyone who recurs across the set. Viewpoint, pose, gesture and framing can vary. Agreeing that split before expanding the campaign means the differences are intentional.

Keep the product separate from the look

Keep factual product references together: clear photographs of the relevant angles, detail views, measurements where scale matters, and the correct logo or packaging artwork. Keep visual references alongside them, with a short note on what matters in each. A reference for the look cannot stand in for evidence of the product’s design.

Review the details and the whole set

Compare each selected frame with the original product references and the approved cast. Then lay the selection out together, as a contact sheet, and look for the picture that feels disconnected: an unexpected yellow cast, sharper contrast or overly smooth skin. Finally, check the actual crops. An image that works in a landscape layout may lose a defining detail when cropped for a vertical placement.

A prompt or seed can keep the written direction stable, but it cannot confirm that the result shows the right product. That check happens on the finished images. In my work, the selected frames are retouched by hand and checked against the references.
