Prestwich-based web/software developer Chobble have put some new sites lately, each building on the open source Chobble Template:
- Uke Group North - Ukulele lessons, workshops, and group activities in Ramsbottom and Lancashire
- MyAlarm Security - Burglar alarms and CCTV systems and servicing in New Eltham and Sidcup
-Southport Organics -Organic and vegan cosmetics and self-care, hand-made in Southport
- House of Desserts -Desserts and sweet things in Lutterworth
Each site is edited through the PagesCMS editor, customised to only show the sections specific to each business. This allows the flexibility required to host such diverse sites without users feeling overwhelmed by complicated menu systems.
The Chobble Template (Github link) is built using the Eleventy static site generator and is released under the AGPLv3 license which means anyone can use, adapt, or modify it, as long as they share their changes. You might also choose to employ Chobble to build the site directly, and host it on their infrastructure:
- Automatic deploys to Bunny CDN
- Emails provided by Purelymail
- Data backed up to Hetzner and Scaleway S3
- Source code hosted on Github and Gandi
Prices are £40 per month for unlimited site hosting, plus support, or £10 per month for a single site's hosting with no support. All prices are discounted 50% for vegan businesses, charities, cooperatives, and renewable energy businesses.
