Working in the Home Office’s Cyber Security Profession

My name is Anthony, and I am the Head of Cyber Security Profession at the Home Office. I have worked in the Home Office for almost two years. Prior to joining the department, I worked with the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Information Security Projects.

I joined the Home Office as a Lead Cyber Security Risk Assurance Manager in the Cyber Security team and have progressed to my current position. I have also been a university lecturer in the past, teaching subjects such as Information Security & Governance, Network Security and Digital Forensics.

What I enjoy the most about my job is working to secure government systems and bringing in the best cyber security talent out there to fortify our defence and threat intelligence. I love working with people and solving problems, overcoming obstacles and challenges, and achieving successes.

I have found there is a very understanding and supportive staffing structure here. I also value the fact that working arrangements are flexible, and there is an excellent pension scheme.

I would highly recommend working at the Home Office in one of our Cyber roles. If you’re interested, please reach out to one of our lead recruiters to understand what the roles involve and learn more about the application and interview process. Come and be part of the relatively new and exciting Home Office cyber security profession!
