Job summary
The Service Transition Manager is responsible for the planning and coordination of resources to make sure that C4IS services are effectively transitioned into service operations.
Responsible for coordinating activities across projects, suppliers, and service teams.
Responsible for ensuring that ICS projects and changes delivered through the unit Transition Team are appropriately evaluated against operational requirements and responsible for facilitating technical collaboration to resolve issues.
Responsible for the factual assessment of both the operational performance of the service and the performance of the Operating Authority & then communicating these findings to the Operational Command Team, the project delivery team and other key stakeholders to facilitate acceptance and remediation decisions.
Responsible for highlighting project risks and issues to the delivery team and the Unit Command Team.
Responsible for continuously improvement of processes and for selecting the most appropriate delivery methods and tools including Agile and Lean practices.
Provide weekly Transition updates.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
The main focus of the role will be to lead the Transition Team, setting their work to match the Group priorities, mentoring their application of evaluation activities and assuring standards of evaluation and report writing.
In addition to this you will be expected to attend Project, Operational Support, HQ Strategy and Regimental meetings as required and continuously review and improve the evaluation methods and processes used to deliver change into Operations. With the aim to deliver quality improvements into live operations as quickly as possible.
You will be required to attend Project, Operational Support, HQ Strategy and Regimental meetings as required and be able to provide high quality verbal and written reports on project and resource forecasts for wider Regimental planning purposes.
There will also be the requirement to undertake learning and development, and relevant up-skilling as required, while conducting line management, mentoring and countersigning tasks as required by the role.
Person specification
To be suitable for this role you need to have a working knowledge of all aspects of the MS Office suite and be at Practitioner level in the following Functional Competencies:
- Experience in Project Management and Delivery.
- Experience of staff management and development.
- Practical experience in Agile, SAFE, Scrum & DevOps frameworks.
You must also have experience in running meetings and briefing senior management.
