Our 4th annual DACB Data Protection & Cyber Conference.
Much like prior years, 2021 has been a busy year for data protection developments. We have seen the use of new technologies and practices such as AI and targeted advertising become more sophisticated and widely used. Unfortunately, the rough does come with the smooth, with our team responding to a significant rise in the volume and variety of cyber-attacks as well as a tidal wave of compensation claims and associated litigation.
One of the stand-out developments from this post-Brexit year, is the UK seemingly taking its first steps to depart from the approach of the EU as illustrated by the post-Schrems II cross border transfer landscape.
Our speakers will bring together the latest thinking on these developments and more. We are particularly pleased to be joined by two keynote speakers:
- Lord Justice Warby, the former Judge in Charge of the Media and Communications list and now a Court of Appeal Judge, who will provide his views on developments relating to group litigation orders and representative actions; and
- DCMS who will provide an update on the future of data protection in the UK.
