We’re recruiting for Associate Delivery Managers here at Justice Digital, Data and Science to be part of our warm and collaborative team in Legal Aid Agency (LAA) Digital 

This role aligns against Associate Delivery Manager from the Government Digital and Data Framework. 

LAA Digital design, build and maintain digital products used by those who need legal aid, the legal aid providers that advise and represent them and LAA caseworkers and other staff. Our vision is to create legal aid services that are easy to understand and use, built on modern, secure, affordable and adaptable technology.  

You’ll be someone who wants to work towards becoming an experienced delivery manager leading a multidisciplinary team, supporting and continuously improving products of significant scale and complexity. You’ll get support to develop in this role from your people manager, delivery manager peers, the wider delivery community and from formal learning opportunities. 

Working as an associate delivery manager, you’ll be responsible for building, maintaining and motivating teams, ensuring the team collaborates to focus on what is most important. You will facilitate a culture of continuous improvement in the team. You will proactively manage dependencies and risks to overcome obstacles to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• You’ll be responsible for building, maintaining and motivating agile teams; protecting the team and ensuring collaboration to focus on what is most important. You’ll facilitate a culture of continuous improvement. You will proactively manage dependencies and risks to overcome obstacles to delivery.
• You’ll be responsible for planning and forecasting work with your product manager and with the input of the team. Developing and iterating the plans over time as the needs of a team and a product change throughout the stages of the product life cycle.
• You will build trust with Leaders, Stakeholders and Teams to encourage a culture of experimentation, advocating for lean and agile practices to create better outcomes.
• You’ll be a people advocate - you will help teams evolve their practices for optimal team health and performance. You will understand the importance of assessing team health in the context of the systems they operate and in providing feedback, reflections or support.
• You’ll be a community advocate and share your own learnings by contributing regularly to your profession and taking part in informal support networks with peers.

Person Specification

Essential criteria:

• Agile and Lean Practices: You have some practical experience and understanding of Agile tools, techniques and principles. You can adapt and reflect, be resilient and have the ability to see outside of the process.
• Team Dynamics & Collaboration: You understand the importance of positive team dynamics, collaborative working and empowering a delivery team. You are able to give and receive feedback to team members and understand the importance of doing so appropriately.
• Communicating Between the Technical and Non-Technical: You can communicate complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders and facilitate discussion within a multidisciplinary team.
• Maintaining Delivery Momentum: You can actively track, manage, escalate and communicate risks and dependencies.
• Making a Process Work: You can help a team find the process that works best for them and guide them to focus on the outcome.
