The HMRC Modern Workplace Platform team are looking for three Senior Technical Architects.
The Modern Workplace Platform team are engaged in an exciting period of modernisation of the departmental enterprise IT platform and the services we provide, placing us in the vanguard of HMRCs modernisation strategy. This ambition is enabling us to significantly grow our team of architects, and we are therefore seeking up to three motivated technical architects who share our excitement about the opportunities we can offer.
We are in the process of transitioning from a traditional Microsoft on-premises infrastructure architecture onto a cloud hosted modern workplace platform, which enables us to support HMRC’s flexible working environment.
That environment includes:
- Personal User Devices, currently using on prem device management systems such as AD/MECM/GPO, moving to modern cloud-based device management tools and technologies such as Intune, Windows Autopilot, Apple Business Manager all underpinned by EntraID.
- We need to provide user device choice, zero trust access, cloud device management and effective assistive technology.
- Application and desktop virtualisation, moving towards cloud hosted virtualised devices.
- Enterprise Audio Visual collaboration tools (moving to Teams Rooms and in room AV technology) and Intelligent Building IT integration.
- Internal Identity and directory services (Active Directory, PingDS), including multiple directory integration and synchronisation, moving towards EntraID and modern identity management and tools.
- Enterprise productivity, messaging and collaboration tools, primarily Microsoft 365.
- Device and Infrastructure Management and Monitoring systems (Device Build, Software Delivery, Security systems, Device and User Experience monitoring).
