GlobalLogic is a digital product engineering consultancy. We were founded in 2000 and have grown considerably since, to now have nearly 30,000 employees in 18 countries. We work with many customers across all industries throughout the world. In the UK we have offices in London, Glasgow Edinburgh and Manchester, with Manchester being the fastest growing location having nearly doubled in size in the last 12 months.

The culture of GlobalLogic is very open and collaborative; we have a diverse workforce with people from many different backgrounds working in the UK at all different levels, who come together to create some exciting products and solutions for all our customers. Everybody in the business is encouraged to participate share ideas and contributes to the growth of the company. We’re particularly focussed on investing in people and have training and development plans where individuals can work with their mentors and managers to define their best career path. We also have a very active social committee who organise all sorts of events, such as board game nights, trips to the zoo, pub quizzes, and special interest groups – where if you're a fan of baking or cooking or like bike riding or running you can get together with other people with similar interests.

How does the company go above and beyond to attract and retain tech talent?

I think because GlobalLogic is such a people focused business we’re very aware of the fact that we need to ensure that our people are happy and feel a part of the organisation. By not only having the social aspects of things but also guilds where people can come together from a technical perspective share ideas best practise and help contribute to continuous improvement, we are able to provide a progressive environment where our technical people always have something new to get involved in, and are encouraged to share ideas with the wider teams and peers.

GlobalLogic is part of Hitachi so therefore reach into many parts of the world in different sectors meaning there’s always something different and new on the horizon. We have a flat management structure where managers are almost like career coaches who work with individuals to provide support, the right training – enabling people to grow and develop at their own pace – and ensure we’re helping people to go down the right career path for them.

What does the future look like for the company and its employees?

By having regular communication with the leadership team, everybody can get to hear about the good things that we’re doing, plus areas of improvement and how we are tackling those, and what the future plans for growth are within the company. This and all the initiatives mentioned above help people feel engaged and feel like there is a future within the organisation which helps us to retain people.

The future at GlobalLogic Is one of growth and development. Due to working within digital product development, our customers are always coming back to us to help them with new problems they face in today's changing world. Meaning we are always able to collaborate to help them innovate and provide top class business solutions. Our employees get to work with many different customers on varying projects, that have different business outcomes and use different technology stacks which keeps the work interesting and varied.
