About the Role

The Information Governance Technical Services Supervisor is an integral part of Latham’s Information Governance team. This role will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of the Information Governance “Access” team, including handling access requests and reviews, requests for audit and privacy evidence, and compliance tasks. This role will provide strong personnel management, including frequent check-ins with direct reports and provide professional development opportunities for the team. This role will be located in our Manchester office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.  

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Other key responsibilities include: 

  • Supervising the day-to-day functions of the department; developing plans, organising electronic files, and assuming responsibility for the completion of department projects
  • Working closely with other members of Technology, to advise Identity and Access Management capabilities and ensuring identity governance tools communicate correctly with various systems
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance the Information Governance program by utilising a thorough understanding of information management, security, identity, and privacy principles
  • Understanding the firm’s systems and software tools; acting as a resource regarding various information governance questions for staff, attorneys, and other users
  • Assisting with communicating to lawyers and paralegals to ascertain the status of Information Governance Compliance projects to ensure data is handled appropriately 

 We’d love to hear from you if you: 

  • Demonstrate excellent research and analytical skills, as well as attention to detail and superior written and oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Display the ability to be comfortable working in a team environment and a desire to offer excellent leadership skills (organising, planning, decision-making, etc.)
  • Possess the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion

 And have: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree and/or experience of servers and storage, active directory, networking and/or other technology Infrastructure experience
  • Experience of a supervisory role is desired
  • Experience of working within a law firm is highly encouraged
