A survey by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) in 2020 found around 52% of micro and small businesses fell victim to a cybersecurity breach or cyber attack in the past 12 months. With the average cost to each business was nearly £1,000 – rising to as much as £3,000 for some.
