Premier Textiles hires new head of supply chain

Sarah Marlow, Premier Textiles

Premier Textiles, one of Europe's leading importers of fabrics, yarns and finished fabrics, has recruited a new head of supply chain.

Sarah Marlow joins the independent family owned group which was founded in 1981 and has more than 50,000 sq ft of modern warehousing space in Stockport and Bury.

It comes after Premier Textiles last year became the sole owner of Premex Solutions, which prompted the opening of a new 10,000 sq ft warehouse in Atlanta to service the growing demand of the digital print ready fabric market in North America.

The group’s other core company is Premier Digital Textiles, Europe's leading supplier for quality coated fabrics for digital textile printing.

Sarah, who joined following a 15-year spell with Arthouse, said: “I’m delighted to have become part of the team working across the Premier Textiles group.

“The industry is going through an exciting time and there’s a lot of competition. Premier is very well established having been in existence for more than 40 years and we want to continue to be at the forefront of innovation, product development and sustainability solutions.”

Stocking over 5 million linear metres of fabric at any given time, Premier Textiles employs 40 people in Greater Manchester and also owns Bancroft Soft Furnishings, having acquired it in 1994.

Group Managing Director Ashok Kallumpram said: “It’s very pleasing that Sarah has joined. She has a great deal of experience and plenty of fresh ideas.

“Our mission is to remain at the forefront of innovation, which is driven by investment in our team, real value partnerships with customers and suppliers and responsibly taking care of our planet. We want to use our global trading experience and technical textile skills to find solutions for bespoke textile products and work in partnership with key customers.”
