World Autism Awareness Day and Autism Acceptance Month take place in April with the aim of increasing people’s understanding of autism to in turn create a more equitable and inclusive world.

Last week, Nick from our Shared Services Connected Ltd (SSCL) Resourcing team joined our Neurodiversity Network to lead a session on what organisations can do to improve employment outcomes for autistic people. Nick’s volunteer work consists of supporting autistic adults and consulting with lead employers on the barriers that can arise in recruitment processes and workplace scenarios.

Nick has a brilliant way of bringing examples to life and his engaging event got us all thinking about what we can be doing to make sure we’re enabling everyone to thrive at work.

Our employee inclusion networks provide a forum where relevant issues and different perspectives can be openly discussed, to promote better understanding and raise awareness across our company.
