TiE UK North has appointed Harinder Dhaliwal as President, marking the start of his two-year term of office.
Established in 2012, TiE UK North works with hundreds of businesses each year and supports founders across the North of England through mentoring, networking, education, funding and incubation. The chapter operates as part of TiE Global, one of the world’s largest entrepreneurial networks.
A TiE Charter and Board member, Harinder brings extensive entrepreneurial and leadership experience to the role.
He is Founder and Managing Director of Step-Places, an award-winning Manchester-based property company that places regeneration at the core of its business.
And takes over from outgoing President Sunil Mohindra, following a period of sustained growth and delivery for TiE UK North.

Alongside his commercial work, Harinder is a committed mentor and keynote speaker within the TiE UK North community.
He plays an active role in the TiE Entrepreneur Series, a programme designed to support early-stage founders with practical insight, real-world experience and access to trusted networks.
Harinder began his presidency at the TiE Global Summit in Jaipur, TiE’s flagship annual event, now in its tenth year.
Several Manchester-based TiE UK North Charter Members attended the summit, alongside Antoinette Oni, winner of the TiE Women’s Global UK Pitch Competition UK, who is representing the UK and competing for the global prize fund.
