Head of Digital Product - UK Export Finance - G6

Location: London

As Head of Digital Product, you’ll play a critical leadership role in shaping UKEF’s digital future. You’ll lead the Product team within the Digital & Data Division, influence strategic direction at senior level, and ensure digital services deliver measurable value, for users, for the organisation, and for the UK economy.

This is a role for someone who enjoys setting vision, empowering teams and steering complex decisions, including the responsible adoption of emerging technologies such as AI.

About the role

You’ll be a core member of the DDaT Senior Leadership Team, working closely with peers across Digital, Data and Technology to deliver UKEF’s future state vision.

You’ll be accountable for:

• The overall product management strategy across projects, services and change initiatives
• Aligning digital delivery with UKEF’s strategic objectives, value‑for‑money principles and user needs
• Ensuring a consistent, high‑quality product approach across teams and suppliers

What you’ll be doing

As Head of Digital Product, you will:

Strategic leadership

• Define and own the product management approach and strategy, including goals, priorities and roadmaps
• Help drive UKEF’s DDaT Strategy, including adoption of emerging technologies such as AI
• Sit on senior boards (e.g. Programme Boards, Design Authority), acting as a voting member and escalation point

Product & team leadership

• Act as the senior escalation point for all product decisions
• Lead, mentor and coach the Product team, supporting capability and community building
• Support the Lead Product Manager in shaping team dynamics and workload allocation
• Champion best practice and continuous improvement across the product community

Stakeholder & external engagement

• Influence and negotiate with senior internal and external stakeholders
• Own relationships with other Export Credit Agencies (ECAs), learning from and contributing to international digital transformation efforts
• Ensure alignment between digital services, business strategy and operational realities

Value, insight & outcomes

• Ensure digital products deliver clear outcomes and value for money
• Use data and user insights to inform prioritisation, roadmaps and strategic decisions
• Promote reuse, interoperability and joined‑up thinking across government

Essential experience & knowledge

You’ll bring:

• Strong product management leadership experience
• Knowledge of user‑centred digital product delivery
• Experience working with Agile delivery approaches
• Understanding of the Service Standard and Technology Code of Practice
• Familiarity with financial or banking‑style systems (or ability to quickly understand them)
• Confidence using data and insight to drive prioritisation and outcomes

A degree (or equivalent professional experience) in a relevant field is required.
